Road

Although the Shetland Islands are small, measuring only 80 miles tip to tip and 35 miles wide, we have 648.4 miles of paved road to ride.

There are no easy miles; the roads in Shetland are of incredibly good quality, albeit hilly. The wind can add its own challenges, but we like to think it makes us stronger, more resilient riders.

In 2023, we are planning to roll out more club runs, including ladies’ group rides, beginner club runs and a summer Anniversary ride.

Check out our Events Calendar to see what’s on!

About Us
The Shetland Wheelers is the UK's most northerly cycling club. Located midway between Iceland, Norway and the mainland of Scotland, Shetland is battered between the North Sea and the Atlantic. There are no easy miles here in Shetland, but we love every single one of them (except for, perhaps, The Scord). Come and ride with us.
